.ANNAVARAM
Introduction:
Annavaram is
a pilgrim center in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a small
town on the highway from Chennai to Calcutta. It is in between Kattipudi and
Tuni of East Godavari District. It is treated as second Tirupathi of Andhra
Pradesh. The name of the Deity is Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy. The
Goddess is Ananta Lakshmi.
About the
temple:
The temple
is on a small hill. There are stairs to go up and also there is a road to go up
by car and bus. The Devastanam runs buses from downhill to hill top. As you get
up to the temple, you feel very peaceful and the whole ambience is full of
sacred thoughts. Many people coming here will perform
Satyanarayana Vratam. People will come here to perform Satyanarayana Vratam.
After performing the Vratam they will go for Darshan.
The other
places you can visit on the hill are Rama temple, village Goddess Temple and
Time Machine. The view of Pampa dam from the top is very good.
Down the
hill there is a temple of Kusuma Haranth Baba.
Where to Stay:
There are guesthouses of the Devastanam. Many rooms are
available on very reasonable rates.
Private lodges are not available. There are restaurants for
meals and Tiffin. Staying in Kakinada or
Rajahmundry and hiring a taxi and coming here is also a good option.
How to reach:
This place is on the highway from Chennai to Calcutta. Many
buses are available from all places of Andhra Pradesh to this place. From
Hyderabad also buses are there. There is a railway station in Annavaram. It is
on the Vijayawada- Vizag route of south central railway. Many express trains
will have a stop here.
Final Word:
This is a very nice place and visiting this place will bring
in lot of peace to our mind. It is nice to visit at least once in a life time.
