EXPERIENCE

Worked in Explosives and accessories
manufacturing companies, worked in Godavari Explosives Limited and Premier
Explosives Limited in different levels starting from Manager (QC) to Director
(Operations). As operations in charge, looked after all functions of operations
including safety, quality, R&D, production and general administration.

Premier Explosives Limited is a member of Safex
International. Was the contact person for safex.
·
After working for more than 30 years, recently resigned
from M/S PEL and started consultancy for various explosives manufacturing units
in the areas of Safety, quality and Production. With my rich experience in
explosives I want to contribute further for the growth of explosive
manufacturing with safe practices to avoid accidents. I want to be a member of
Safex to be in touch with all developments that are taking place around the
globe and contribute a little with my experience to eliminate hazards in these
areas.

Experience Details: Aug 1983 to
Jan 1986.:

Worked as Chief Chemist with M/S Eastern Electro
manganese Pvt.Ltd, Visakhapatnam. I
worked in this company as laboratory in charge and process development in
charge. Established process in collaboration with Andhra University at pilot
plant scale. Also established at plant level.

Feb 1986 to Feb 1988.:
·
Worked as “Plant Manager” with M/S Calcium Products,Hindupur. Worked as
plant in charge. Responsible for production, quality control and general administration. As a profit centre head managing the factory
as per the budget, keeping the production cost as per budget, quality of the
product and industrial relations maintenance were the main responsibilities.
Production Manager, Lab in charge and admn.officer were reporting to me and I
was reporting to Managing Partner.

Feb1988 to Aug 1995.:

Worked with M/S Premier Explosives Limited,
Hyderbad in different capacities.

Feb1988 to Apl 1991.: Manager (QC)
Responsible for quality control.

Apl 1991 to Mar 1994.

Production Manager, Responsible for production,
QC, Safety and Maintenance. In addition to these I used to guide people in
R&D also.

Completely responsible for plant management.
Meeting budget targets, keeping the production cost as agreed and making the
product available as per the requirement of marketing. Production manager,
maintenance manager, qc manager and safety manager were reporting to me and I
was reporting to Works Manager.

Apl 1994 to March 1995.

Works Manager.
In charge of all plant operations including inventory, IR and General
Admn. Reporting to Managing Director.

Apl 1995 to Aug 1997.
·
Plant Manager with M/S Pennar Chemicals Ltd.,
Hyderabad. Established the process and brought the unit to commercial
production level. Reporting to Managing Director. All departmental heads are
reporting to me.

Aug 1997 to Sept 2016 : With
M/S Premier Explosives Limited, Hyderabad as detailed below.
·
Aug 1997 to April 2000. General Manager.
Reporting to Managing Director. Responsible for all operations of the unit
working. As a profit centre head showing the projected profit was the main
function. All departmental heads were reporting to me. Additionally I was
heading the R&D of the company.

April 2000 to Aug 2005.: Vice President. In addition to the
responsibility of the unit posted and R&D, looked after the out sourcing
activities of the organization at different places. We are managing three units under government
sector under operation and maintenance contract. Providing the required
manpower and maintaining the production levels as required by the department
are the important aspects in this.
·
Aug 2005 to April 2009: President. Responsibilities are same as that
of Vice president.
·
May 2009 to Sept 2016.: Director (Production).
·
Responsible for the total companies production
and service activities. All unit heads and service contract heads will be
reporting to me. I will be reporting to Board of Directors of the Company.
Maintain the production as per the agreed budget with accepted production cost
is the core responsibility. Managing multilocational activities of the company within
the agreed budget without any IR & HR problems is my main responsibility.

Consultant. Undertaking consultancy works with
various explosive and chemical industries.

I have teaching experience also. I am a guest
faculty at University of Gulbarga and Defense Institute of Advanced Technology,
Pune.
Achievements
Ø Nickel
Hydrazine Nitrate (NHN) was developed at commercial scale. Detonators of all
types are developed using NHN in place of ASA. Patent for this technology is
applied and awaited approval. NHN is a very safe primary explosive. This technology was transferred to Austin
Detonators, USA. After introducing this product there are no incidents in
handling of the product for the last 4 years. I have published a note on this
product in Safex news letter.
Ø During
my career with PEL, best safety practices were maintained and obtained Andhra
Pradesh Pollution Control Board award for best safe practices consecutively for
4 years.
Ø A
system of internal training on safe handling of explosives was established.
Each and Every employee of the Organization has to undergo this training at
least for a day in a year.
Ø A
system of internal safety audit was introduced to know the drawbacks in the
operations and required actions were being taken within the acceptable time
frame.
Ø Expertise
in managing multiproduct manufacture and multilocational operations.
Ø Published
more than 40 papers in various national and international journals and
seminars.
Ø Attended
a seminar organized by IGUS at Japan and presented a case study on one of the
accidents occurred in an explosive manufacturing plant in India in association
with Safex International.
Ø Presented
two case studies on accident investigation at seminars conducted by Safex.
Ø Attended
and presented a paper on Safety in Explosive and Pyrotechnic manufacture at a
seminar organized by IPS, at Colorado, USA.
Ø Was
a technical committee member in Australian Institute of High Energetic
Materials and also published a paper on safe manufacturing practices in
explosive manufacture.
Ø Organized
two seminars in association with Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization
(PESO), Government of India, Hyderabad office. Was an editorial board member
for these seminars and Presented papers in these seminars.
Ø Was
a technical and paper screening committee member for the two international
seminars organized by PESO, India in association with Explosive Manufacturers
welfare association, India. Presented two
papers in these seminars.
Ø Was
an Executive Committee Member in National Safety Council, AP Chapter,Hyderabad. Three training programs were conducted for
the executives working in various explosive manufacturing units in collaboration
with National Safety council and Department of Factories, AP. Delivered
lectures in these programs on importance of safety in manufacturing.
Ø Attended
Workshops conducted by Andhra University; Gulbarga University, Nanded
University, and Vijay nagar College of Technology as Resource person and
delivered lectures on High Energy Materials and importance of safety in
handling these products.
Ø Attended
training programs organized by Defense Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune
India, and delivered a lecture on explosives. Participants of this program were officers from various defense
organizations of India.
Ø Organized
a National Seminar in association with Gulbarga University, Gulbarga on High
Energy Materials and delivered a lecture.
Ø I
was an authorized research guide in Gulbarga University and 3 students obtained
their Ph.D., under my guidance.
Ø Connect
it is a institution offering a diploma in industrial safety to engineers. As a
guest lecturer here delivered lecture on safety aspects in hazardous
material and explosive handling.
